26/27 December - Vatnlian
On the first Christmas day, we started with breakfast at 10.30 or something. Then we packed our bags and around 12.30 we left the house and drove towards Vatnlian. We had been invited there since Bente Sandersen filled 40 years that day. We had a very nice dinner, traditionally called "dansk frokost bord" (Bente is Danish, you see), played the "gift game" and mainly relaxed. Frode (Bente's husband) and some others took a few minutes for a short speech to thank Bente and congratulate her. It must've been 1.30am when we went to bed. When we woke up the other morning, the sun was shining brightly over the hills. This was so nice, so I took a few pictures (Wenche packed my camera!) that I uploaded to my wanuka.com site. We drove home at 11.30 because Wenche had to work at 2.30; arrived at home at 1.30 and I drove Wenche to her job. After that, Arjan and I washed the car and Arjan bought 6 bottles of mustard (he and his brother like Norwegian mustard!) Once at home, we didn't do much more than relaxing on the couch, watching TV, drinking a beer and chatting. Next day, Monday 27 December, I stood up 4am to bring Arjan to the airport since his flight left an 6.30.
